Could this season be the last for veteran rider Manolito Becerra? the 37 year old who will turn 38 early into next season could be riding in his last few races before handing in his bike and retiring. He's been with the team for over 7 months and in that time has been an excellent team mate for long serving captain Victoro Qunitero, and new youngster Uriah Callahan. Since joining the team he has almost managed to secure a 3rd place in Villa Krause Climbs which for a rider of his age is a commendable achievement.
Becerra is riding in the FoW tour which is increasing speculation among the team that this could be his farwell tour. If he is to leave he will forever go down in the hall of fame here at Team Brecon, and I'm sure he will be remembered at previous teams, Grankia and Die Tour Phantome. With 6 rides for his national team but no results its clear to see that Manolito has always been a fantastic team mate, who has never complained about not being the leader and winning races which he would hve been capable of, it goes to show he is one of the top professional domestiques in the cycling world.
So if he is to go, he will be surely missed. However the retirement/release revenue recieved by the club will be put to use with 3 great talents within the team about to begin their training programmes. These riders are Karakaya Mercanli, Koenraad Oosterbaan and Teodor Bekkevold.
